For undergraduate school I attended Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina and received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Middle Level Education with a focus on Language Arts. For my graduate degree I attended Webster University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and received a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling.

My very first year out of undergraduate school I was a 7th grade inclusion teacher at Hanshew Middle School in Anchorage, Alaska. At the same time I began working at Sylvan Learning center and moved into a full time position as Assistant Director of Education. After taking a year off to have my daughter, I worked as the upper grades science and grammar teacher at Chabad Academy in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I was then recruited by Horry County School District to work within their Safe Schools Healthy Students grant as a liaison between the schools and the Department of Juvenile Justice. At the end of my graduate school career, I worked at Seacoast Youth Academy as both a Language Arts teacher and a counselor. I taught 7th grade Language Arts for 3 years in Charlotte, North Carolina at Quail Hollow Middle School and 8th grade Language Arts in Waxhaw, North Carolina at Marvin Ridge Middle School. This is my third year at Southwest Middle School.

I am originally from White Plains, New York but spent most of my life in Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating from Mauldin High School, I went to Coastal Carolina University majoring in K-8 education. After graduating I spent 2 weeks driving to Alaska and stayed in Anchorage for the next 3 1/2 years. My family decided to relocate back to the east coast a month and a half before my daughter, Mercedes, was born. I lived in Myrtle Beach for the next 5 years and moved to North Carolina in 2010. My daughter Mercedes and I have a cat named Kali and a greyhound named Princess Jasmine. We enjoy reading, swimming, and watching movies.
