Although I did not technically graduate from LSU, it is the school I consider home. I attended LSU for the first 3 years of my education. At that time my husband received orders here to Camp LeJeune and I completed my remaining courses through ECU online. I like to point out that I may have changed schools, but my colors remained the same! Either way, I'm a purple and gold kinda girl!

I am currently in my 9th year of teaching. I began my career in education as a teaching assistant in the exceptional children's department. It was during my time as a TA that I finished my degree online. Upon completion of my Bachelor's degree in Media Studies I entered the teaching field as a lateral entry teacher.

I am a wife and mother to two amazing young men. Both of my sons are SWMS alumni and graduated from Southwest High School. My oldest is currently a college sophomore attending Gardner-Webb University where he is a wrestler and student. My youngest son is in his first year at UNC Chapel Hill. He is also a wrestling student athlete. I am extremely proud of both of my boys for achieving their goals of becoming students and Division I athletes at each of their universities. My husband is a retired Marine. He worked as a teaching assistant at SWHS for a few years, before making the jump into teaching this year. He currently teaches 7th grade Social Studies at Swansboro Middle School.
